Ecclesiastes 5:6

Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither say before the messenger, that it was an unintentional [error]: why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?[fn]

messenger in this context is likely to mean the priest. Compare to Malachi 2:7. Messenger can also be translated as 'angel'.
