craftsman and builder: Greek τεχνίτης καὶ δημιουργός (*technitēs kai dēmiourgos*), here applied to God the Father — the only New Testament use of δημιουργός, the Platonic word for the world-fashioning maker. The Epistle to the Greeks (7:2) takes up the identical pair for the one God sends — 'the craftsman and builder of all things,' through whom the Father made the universe — among the earliest christological uses of the term.
