The UPDV Bible is available in a number of different formats depending on your requirements.

Format: PDF File

This format works on nearly all computers. It uses the Adobe Acrobat PDF format. A free version of their reader software is available at You will need this software before being able to read the UPDV in PDF format.

Format: Microsoft Word Document

This file can be opened in Microsoft Word, a commercial product. This option is best for those who are interested in re-formatting, printing, or re-distributing the UPDV Bible. This format also contains the complete footnotes, table of contents, appendix, and formatting.

Step 1: Click the Word Download button at the top of this page to save the UPDV e-Sword Bible module to your computer.

Step 2: Open the file updv.docx you just downloaded. It should open in Microsoft Word.

Format: e-Sword Bible Module For Windows (Requires E-Sword Version 9 Or Higher)

This is a recommended method for easier access to search, retrieve, find cross references, and store notes in the Bible. The e-Sword Bible Program is available free of charge. There are also a variety of other resources available to use with it. The UPDV module integrates into it as a separate Bible version. Currently, the footnotes and appendix are not available in the e-Sword format. In addition, the module is only available for Microsoft Windows based computers. Technical note: When searching the entire Bible, in order to include Sirach, you need to select Sirach as the last book instead of Revelation. Please note the format of this Bible download only works with E-Sword Version 9 or above.

Step 1: Download the e-Sword program from if you don't have the free e-Sword Bible Program yet. You will need it before going to the next step. Be sure the program is installed and working. Then exit from it.

Step 2: Click the e-Sword PC Download button at the top of this page to save the UPDV e-Sword Bible module to your computer.

Step 3: Open the file named updves.exe you just saved in step #2. The installer program will start. Follow the instructions contained in it.

Step 4: After completing the UPDV module installation, just open the e-Sword program. The UPDV should display as a Bible. If the e-Sword program was open during the installation, be sure to close it, and then re-open it.

Format: e-Sword For Apple - Mac OSX / iPhone / iPad

Click the e-Sword Apple Download  button at the top of this page to download the Apple formatted module to your Macintosh computer, iPhone, or iPad device. Use the Safari browser on your computer or device that you have e-Sword on. Then click the file to open it.

For iPhone / iPad:
Next, click on the share button in the upper right - a small square with an up-arrow. Then select "e-Sword". This will copy the file to e-Sword. The UPDV Bible will now be an option in e-Sword.

On Mac OSX:
Just double click the file that was downloaded and it will install. Then open the e-Sword app and select the UPDV bible to use it.

Format: MySword for Android

Click the MySword Android Download button at the top of this page to download the MySword formatted module to your Android Device that you have MySword on. Then use a file manager to copy the download to your default MySword data path. The data path can be seen in the MySword app by by looking in Settings - Select Modules Path. Exit and restart the MySword App. Note: The MySword format of the UPDV Bible does not contain 1 Maccabees or Sirach due to techincal limitations. Format: Logos Personal Book - Bible Module

This is the docx file that can be used as a source to build the UPDV Bible in Logos bible software. 

The appendix and footnotes are not currently included. 

Step 1: Visit the website at if you want more information about Logos Bible Software.

Step 2: Click, or right-click, the Logos PBB Download button at the top of this page to save the UPDV docx source file to your computer.

Step 3: Open Logos, and Select Tools, Then Personal Books. Click Add Book.

Step 4: Enter the following information in the respective fields: UPDV 2.17, Greg Abrams, Copyright 2018, Type: Bible, Language: English. Enter UPDV 2.17 in the large box to the right. Click Add file, add the docx that was downloaded. Then click build book. This will take several minutes. Ignore any errors reported. You can also use a book cover image by clicking the Logos PBB Cover Download button at the top of this page to use the printed edition book cover image. Save that to your computer then set that as the cover image within Logos.

Step 5: After building, click Finished. Then click on it, and optionally click on the Upload button to allow it to sync to any other Logos installs you have on desktop computers. The UPDV should now show as a Bible in your Library. Within your library it can be quickly loaded by using the abbreviation 'UPDV'.

Format: MP3 Files

These are computer synthesized readings of the Bible by chapter. Although the voice quality is not as good as human, it may be adequate for some purposes. The MP3 files can be downloaded to portable players, burned to cd/dvd, or copied to other storage media. You will need an MP3 player of some type to play these files. Most computers already have this software. These can be downloaded or played online.
