Lace

The word names a cord used in fastening one element of the high priest's vestments. It appears in the closing summary of the tabernacle's construction.

The Blue Lace on the Turban

When the priestly garments are completed, the gold plate engraved for the forehead is fixed in place by a colored cord: "And they tied to it a lace of blue, to fasten it on the turban above; as Yahweh commanded Moses" (Exod 39:31). The detail is small, but the verse marks it as a direct execution of Yahweh's instruction to Moses, completing that piece of the priestly array.
