Muffler

A muffler is one of the items of women's finery in Isaiah's catalog of the ornaments of the daughters of Zion, listed in the prophet's indictment of their luxury before the coming judgment.

The muffler appears alongside other articles of personal adornment: "the pendants, and the bracelets, and the mufflers;" (Isa 3:19). The term sits within a long inventory of jewelry, garments, and accessories that the prophet lists as marks of pride to be stripped away.
