Leviticus — Footnotes

Chapter 1

1:2 — man, see Appendix. This construction is used instead of 'a man' or 'any man' to indicate the underlying Hebrew word 'adam' with some consistency throughout the Old Testament.

Chapter 6

6:2 — associate. This word generally refers to people who do business with each another. This is the same concept behind the word 'associate' in these other verses: Leviticus 18:20, 19:11, 19:15, 19:17, 24:19, 25:14, 25:15, 25:17 and Zechariah 13:7.

Chapter 18

18:6 — in Chapters 18 and 20 to have any sex with means any type of sexual activity. It is generally translated in place of the idioms 'to uncover nakedness', 'to approach', or 'to lie with' in the original texts. See the Definitions section in Appendix.
