Downloads are generated once each night. The website version is updated live more frequently throughout the day, so it may be slightly ahead of the latest download.

The UPDV Bible is available in the following free formats:

PDF, e-Sword, MySword, ePub, Logos, and Plain Text are updated nightly.
Audio and Video are based on previous releases and are not up to date.
For Bible cover printing options: Standard is sized for Lulu.com. Lightweight is sized for BookPrintOnDemand.com (thinner paper).

e-Sword (PC Desktop)

Get e-Sword free at e-sword.net

1. Download the Desktop version above.
2. Open your Downloads folder.
3. Copy the updv.bblx file to your e-Sword program folder, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword.
4. (Optional) May need to restart the app to show. To update to a new release, delete the existing version, re-import, and restart the app.
5. The Epistle to the Greeks is in the place of The Book of Acts.
6. Matthew is reconstructed as well, so its versification will not match canonical Matthew.

e-Sword X (Apple Desktop)

Get e-Sword X on the App Store.

1. Download the Apple version above.
2. Click on it and it should open in e-Sword X as a Bible.
3. (Optional) May need to restart the app to show. To update to a new release, delete the existing version, re-import, and restart the app.

1. Open Safari to this Downloads page.
2. Click e-Sword (Apple) to download the updv.bbli file.
3. Import, then select from the files.
4. In the Bibles active menu, select this version.

1. Download the Android version above.
2. Place the downloaded zip file in the MySword folder in Internal Storage.
3. Restart MySword.

6. 1 Maccabees and Sirach are in the Books view, not Bible view.

Logos

Use the Personal Books utility in Logos Bible Software. See the Logos help article for full details.

1. Download the Logos version above (updv-logos.docx).
2. In Logos, go to Tools and search for the Personal Books utility.
3. Add a new book and select the downloaded updv-logos.docx file.
4. We recommend setting the book title to the current nightly version, 2026.0811.3.
5. Optionally, add a book cover image of your choosing.
6. Build the book, then open it from your library.
7. To update to a new nightly release, download and rebuild the book again, changing the version number in the title to match the current release.
8. If you get an error when updating, close the UPDV resource window, then close and reopen the Logos app and try again.
9. The Epistle to the Greeks is in the place of The Book of Acts.
10. Matthew is reconstructed as well, so its versification will not match canonical Matthew.

Plain Text

These are the raw text files the rest of the editions are built from — useful for importing into other software, text analysis, modification, re-translation, or any other purpose.

1. Download and unzip the file above (updv-text.zip).
2. You will get a text folder with one UTF-8 file per book, named by book code (Ge, Mt, Phm, and so on) with no file extension.
3. Each line is a single verse, beginning with its chapter and verse number, such as 1:3 Grace to you⁺ and peace…
4. Formatting markers appear inline and can be stripped if you do not need them: \p (new paragraph) and \q1, \q2, \q3 (poetry lines at indent levels one through three).
5. A raised plus sign marks the second person plural, distinguishing it from the singular. It appears on pronouns (you⁺, your⁺, yours⁺) and on imperative verbs addressed to more than one person (hear⁺, go⁺, take⁺).
6. Square brackets enclose words supplied for clarity that are not in the underlying text, such as and [gave] his heritage or my name [will be] great.
7. The Epistle to the Greeks is in the place of The Book of Acts.
8. Matthew is reconstructed as well, so its versification will not match canonical Matthew.
9. The UPDV text is public domain, so you are free to modify and redistribute it — just do not call a modified text the UPDV.
