14:1 At that season Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, — ->10:7
14:2 and said to his [household] slaves, This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead; and therefore these powers work in him. — ->10:8
14:3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife. — ->3:13
14:4 For John said to him, It is not lawful for you to have her. — ->3:14
14:5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. — ->3:15
14:6 But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced in the middle [of those present], and pleased Herod. — ->7:23
14:7 Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask. — ->7:24
14:8 And she, being put forward by her mother, says, Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist. — ->7:25
14:9 And being grieved, the king, because of his oaths and because of those who sat to eat with him, he commanded it to be given; — ->7:26

14:11 And his head was brought on a platter, and given to the girl: and she brought it to her mother. — ->7:28

14:13 Now when Jesus heard [it], he withdrew from there in a boat, to a desert place apart: and when the multitudes heard [of it], they followed him on foot from the cities. — {Ruc} ->[10:10-12]

And he says to them, You+ come yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest awhile. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart.
And [the people] saw them going, and many knew [them], and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.
14:15 And when evening came, the disciples came to him, saying, The place is desert, and the time is already past; send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food. — ->10:14
14:16 But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go away; you+ give them to eat. — ->10:15
14:17 And they say to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fish. — ->10:16
14:18 And he said, Bring them here to me. — ->10:17
14:19 And having commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass, having taken the five loaves and the two fish, [and] having looked up to heaven, he blessed. And having broken the loaves, he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitudes. — ->10:18
14:20 And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. — ->10:19
14:21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. — ->10:20
14:22 And right away he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him to the other side, until he should send the multitudes away. — ->10:21
14:23 And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when evening came, he was there alone. — ->10:22
14:24 But the boat was now a long distance away from the land, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary. — ->10:23
14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. — ->10:24
14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear. — ->10:25
14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; don't be afraid. — ->10:26
14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it is you, bid me to come to you on the waters. — {Ous}
14:29 And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked on the waters and came to Jesus. — {Ous}
14:30 But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me. — {Ous}
14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and says to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? — {Ous}
14:32 And when they got up into the boat, the wind ceased. — {Ru} ->[10:27]

14:33 And those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, Of a truth you are the Son of God. — {Ous}
14:34 And when they had crossed over, they came to the land, to Gennesaret. — ->10:28
14:35 And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all around that region, and brought to him all who were sick; — ->10:29
14:36 and they implored him that they might only touch the border of his garment: and as many as touched were made whole. — ->10:30
