17:1 And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart: — ->12:14
17:2 and he was transfigured before them; and his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light. — ->12:15
17:3 And look, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him. — ->12:16
17:4 And Peter answered, and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, I will make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. — ->12:17
17:5 While he was yet speaking, look, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and look, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear+ him. — ->12:18
17:6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were exceedingly afraid. — {Ou}
17:7 And Jesus came and touched them and said, Arise, and don't be afraid. — {Ou}
17:8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus only. — {Ru} ->[12:19]
And then they saw no one, except Jesus only.
17:9 And as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead. — {Ru} ->[12:20]
And as they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, except when the Son of Man should have risen again from the dead.
17:10 And the disciples asked him, saying, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must first come? — {Ru} ->[12:22]
And they asked him, saying, [How is it] that the scribes say that Elijah must first come?
17:11 And he answered and said, Elijah indeed comes, and will restore all things: — {Ru} ->[12:23]
And he said to them, Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things: and how is it written of the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be set at nothing?
17:12 but I say to you+, that Elijah has come already, and they didn't know him, but did to him whatever they would. Even so will the Son of Man also suffer of them. — {Ru} ->[12:24]
But I say to you+, that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they would, even as it is written of him.
17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptist. — {Ous}
17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a man, kneeling to him, and saying, — ->13:1
17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. — ->13:2
17:16 And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him. — ->13:3
17:17 And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you+? How long shall I bear with you+? Bring him here to me. — ->13:4
17:18 And Jesus rebuked him; and the demon went out of him: and the boy was cured from that hour. — ->13:5
17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why couldn't we cast it out? — {Ouc}
17:20 And he says to them, Because of your+ little faith: for truly I say to you+, If you+ have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you+ will say to this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place; and it will remove; and nothing will be impossible to you+. — {Ouc}
17:22 And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men; — ->13:6
17:23 and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up. And they were exceedingly sorry. — ->13:7
17:24 And when they had come to Capernaum, those who received the half-shekel [temple tax] came to Peter, and said, Doesn't your+ teacher pay the half-shekel? — {Ou}
17:25 He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke first to him, saying, What do you think, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive toll or tribute? From their sons, or from strangers? — {Ou}
17:26 And when he said, From strangers, Jesus said to him, Therefore the sons are free. — {Ou}
17:27 But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first comes up; and when you have opened his mouth, you will find a shekel: take that, and give to them for me and you. — {Ou}
