22:1 And Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying, — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:2 The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man [who was] a king, who made a marriage feast for his son, — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:3 and sent forth his slaves to call those who were invited to the marriage feast: and they would not come. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:4 Again he sent forth other slaves, saying, Tell those who are invited, Look, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise; — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:6 and the rest laid hold on his slaves, and treated them shamefully, and killed them. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:7 But the king was angry; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:8 Then he says to his slaves, The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:9 Go+ therefore to the partings of the highways, and as many as you+ will find, bid to the marriage feast. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:10 And those slaves went out into the highways, and gathered together everyone they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:11 But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on a wedding-garment: — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:12 and he says to him, Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
22:14 For many are called, but few chosen. — {Rus} ->[17:34-42]
But he said to him, A certain man made a great supper; and he invited many: and he sent forth his slave at supper time to say to those who were invited, Come; for [all] things are now ready. And they all with one [consent] began to make excuses. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I must surely go out and see it; I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I can't come. And the slave came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his slave, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and maimed and blind and lame. And the slave said, Lord, what you commanded is done, and yet there is room. And the lord said to the slave, Go out into the highways and hedges, and constrain [them] to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you+, that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.
22:15 Then the Pharisees went, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in [his] talk. — {Ru} ->[23:1]
22:16 And they send to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care about [what] anyone [thinks]: for you do not regard the person of men. — {Ru} ->[23:2]
And when they had come, they say to him, Teacher, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care about [what] anyone [thinks]: for you do not regard the person of men.
22:17 Tell us therefore, What do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? — ->23:3
22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you+ make trial of me, you+ hypocrites? — {Ru} ->[23:4]
But Jesus perceived their hypocrisy, and said, Why do you+ make trial of me?
22:19 Show me the tribute money. And they brought to him a denarius. — ->23:5
22:20 And he says to them, Whose is this image and superscription? — ->23:6
22:21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's. — ->23:7
22:22 And when they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away. — {Ru} ->[23:8]
And when they heard it, they marveled.
22:23 On that day there came to him Sadducees, those who say that there is no resurrection: and they asked him, — {Ru} ->[23:9]
And there came to him Sadducees, those who say that there is no resurrection: and they asked him,
22:24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If a man dies, having no children, his brother will marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother. — ->23:10
22:25 Now there were with us seven brothers: and the first married and deceased, and having no seed, left his wife to his brother; — ->23:11
22:26 in like manner the second also, and the third, to the seventh. — ->23:12
22:27 And after them all, the woman died. — ->23:13
22:28 In the resurrection therefore whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her. — ->23:14
22:29 But Jesus answered and said to them, You+ err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God. — {Ru} ->[23:15]
But Jesus answered and said to them, Is it not for this cause that you+ err, that you+ don't know the Scriptures, nor the power of God?
22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven. — {Ru} ->[23:16]
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven.
22:31 But as concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you+ not read that which was spoken to you+ by God, saying, — {Ru} ->[23:17]
But as concerning the dead, that they are raised; have you+ not read in the Book of Moses, in [the place concerning] the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying,
22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not [the God] of the dead, but of the living. — ->23:18
22:33 And when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching. — {Ou}
22:34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, gathered themselves together. — {Ru} ->[23:19]
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and having seeing that he answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
22:35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, trying him: — {Ru} ->[23:19]
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and having seeing that he answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
22:36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? — {Ru} ->[23:19]
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and having seeing that he answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
22:37 And he said to him, You will love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. — {Ru} ->[23:20-21]
Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; Yahweh our God, Yahweh is one: and you will love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
22:38 This is the great and first commandment. — {Ru} ->[23:20]
Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; Yahweh our God, Yahweh is one:
22:39 And a second like [it] is this, You will love your fellow man as yourself. — {Ru} ->[23:22]
The second is this, You will love your fellow man as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
22:40 On these two commandments the whole law hangs, and the prophets. — {Ou}
22:41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, — {Ru} ->[23:24]
And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, How do the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
22:42 saying, What do you+ think of the Christ? Whose son is he? They say to him, [The son] of David. — {Ru} ->[23:24]
And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, How do the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
22:43 He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, — {Ru} ->[23:25-26]
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, Yahweh said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, Until I set your enemies under your feet.
David himself calls him Lord; and how is he his son? And the large crowd heard him gladly.
22:44 Yahweh said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, Until I put your enemies underneath your feet? — {Ru} ->[23:25]
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, Yahweh said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, Until I set your enemies under your feet.
22:45 If David then calls him Lord, how is he his son? — {Ru} ->[23:26]
David himself calls him Lord; and how is he his son? And the large crowd heard him gladly.
22:46 And no one was able to answer him a word, neither dared any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. — {Ru} ->[23:23]
And no man after that dared ask him any question.
