5:7 — CT is certain (Level A) that the following is not part of the original text: 'in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one. 8 And there are three who bear witness on earth,'.

5:8 — the three are in [agreement as] one, literally, 'the three are in the one'. This likely refers to the three being witnesses in agreement together.
