But Absalom fled. And the young man who kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that many people came upon the Horonaim road, from the mountain side on the slope, and the watchman came and informed the king; he said, I saw men from the Horonaim road, from the mountain side.[fn]

Horonaim is the plural of Horon. It refers to the two cities in the mountains of Judah called Upper and Lower Beth-horon (Josh 16:3, 5; 2 Chr 8:5, 1 Sam 13:18).
