sent follows Sinaitic Syriac (S), which reads *shaddar*, "sent," in Burkitt's edition and Lewis's 1910 edition (p. 214). Curetonian Syriac (C) reads "gave"; Burkitt reports that S agrees with the Old Latin witnesses e, ff, and aur. The Greek tradition also reads "gave." See Variant Exceptions.
