Abagtha
Abagtha was one of the seven chamberlains who held personal attendance on Ahasuerus, king of Persia.
Chamberlain of Ahasuerus
On the seventh day of a royal banquet, Ahasuerus commanded his court officials to summon Queen Vashti. The chamberlains named are "Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that ministered in the presence of Ahasuerus the king" (Esth 1:10). Abagtha appears in this list without further biographical detail; his sole appearance marks the moment that set in motion the events leading to Esther's elevation.
