Abi

Abi is the mother of Hezekiah, daughter of Zechariah. The two parallel notices of Hezekiah's accession identify her under slightly different forms of the same name.

Mother of Hezekiah

The Kings notice gives the short form: "He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah" (2Ki 18:2).

The Chronicles parallel uses the longer form Abijah for the same woman: "Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old; and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah" (2Ch 29:1). The age, the reign-length, the city, and the father's name match exactly — the two passages name the same person.
