Abiasaph

Abiasaph is a son of Korah and an ancestor of the Korahite clans within the tribe of Levi.

Son of Korah

The Levitical genealogy in Exodus lists Korah's three sons: "And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites" (Ex 6:24). Through this line, Abiasaph stands as a founding figure of one of the major Levitical clan groupings, the Korahites, who appear throughout later biblical history in priestly and musical roles.
