Abishua

Two men named Abishua appear in the Chronicles genealogies — one in the high-priestly line of Aaron, the other in the Benjamite line of Bela.

In the high-priestly line

The Aaronic descent runs through Eleazar and Phinehas down to Abishua: "Eleazar begot Phinehas, Phinehas begot Abishua," (1Ch 6:4). His place in the chain marks him as a third-generation high priest after Aaron.

Son of Bela

The Benjamite roster names a different Abishua among the sons of Bela: "and Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah," (1Ch 8:4).
