Achaicus
Achaicus appears once in the New Testament, named at the close of 1 Corinthians among the three Corinthians whose arrival to Paul filled the gap left by the church at Corinth.
One of Three Corinthians
He stands beside Stephanas and Fortunatus in Paul's closing greetings: "And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your⁺ part they supplied" (1Co 16:17). Their visit refreshes Paul, and he asks the Corinthian assembly to honor them: "For they refreshed my spirit and yours⁺: acknowledge⁺ therefore those who are such" (1Co 16:18). The plural-you marks the charge to the whole assembly. Achaicus is named only here in the UPDV.
