Adoraim

Adoraim was a city of Judah included in the defensive building program of King Rehoboam. After the division of the kingdom, Rehoboam strengthened his hold on Judah and Benjamin by constructing and fortifying a chain of cities. Adoraim appears in that list alongside Lachish and Azekah (2Chr 11:9). Each fortified city received a garrison commander, stores of food, oil, and wine, shields, and spears, making them strong points across the territory that remained to Rehoboam (2Chr 11:11-12).
