Advent

Advent in the topical sense names the appearing of Christ in glory at the close of the present age — his return as judge, king, and bridegroom — together with the millennial reign that follows. The biblical horizon gathers the prophetic promise of his coming, the apostolic expectation of his manifestation, and the kingdom established when he sets up his throne over the earth.
