Ahasbai

Ahasbai appears in a single verse, named only as the father of one of David's thirty mighty men.

Father of Eliphelet

The roll of David's elite warriors includes him in the lineage notice of one of its members: "Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite" (2Sa 23:34). Ahasbai is identified by his own father as "the Maacathite," giving Eliphelet a Maacathite line; Ahasbai himself does no other recorded act in scripture.
