Ahi
The name Ahi belongs to two different men in the Chronicler's genealogies — one a Gadite chief, the other a son in the lineage of Asher.
Ahi Son of Abdiel, a Gadite Chief
In the genealogy of Gad, Ahi appears as a chief of fathers' houses: "Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers' houses" (1Ch 5:15). The line places him three generations deep — Guni, Abdiel, Ahi — and identifies him by office among his clan's heads.
Ahi Son of Shemer, in the Tribe of Asher
A second Ahi is listed among the sons of Shemer in the genealogy of Asher: "And the sons of Shemer: Ahi, and Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram" (1Ch 7:34). He is named without further description, one of four sons in the Asher line.
