Ahiam
Ahiam is one of David's mighty men, listed in the parallel rolls of warriors that close the Samuel narrative and open the Chronicler's account of David's reign. The two lists differ slightly in his patronymic.
In the Roll of David's Heroes
The list at the end of 2 Samuel names him beside another Hararite warrior: "the son of Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite" (2Sa 23:33). The patronymic given here is Sharar, with the gentilic "the Ararite."
In the Chronicler's Parallel List
The Chronicler preserves the same warrior in the corresponding roll but with a different form of his father's name: "Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur" (1Ch 11:35). Here the father is Sacar and the gentilic "the Hararite" matches the Hararite designation given to the warrior named immediately before him in the Samuel list.
