Ahihud
The name Ahihud belongs to two men — a prince of Asher named to the allotment commission for the land of Canaan, and a Benjamite in the lineage descending from Bela.
Prince of Asher
When the tribal allotment is set up at the end of Numbers, Asher's representative is named: "And of the tribe of the sons of Asher a prince, Ahihud the son of Shelomi" (Nu 34:27). His task, with the other tribal princes, is to assist in dividing the land among the tribes.
A Son in the House of Bela
In the Chronicler's Benjamite genealogy, Ahihud appears among the descendants of Bela: "and Naaman, and Ahijah, and Gera, he carried them captive: and he begot Uzza and Ahihud" (1Ch 8:7). The verse names him alongside Uzza as begotten in the line.
