Ahishar

Ahishar held the position of officer over Solomon's royal household. He is listed among the senior officials of Solomon's administration: "and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to slave labor" (1Ki 4:6).

Royal Household Officer

The administrative list in 1Ki 4 enumerates Solomon's principal officers. Ahishar's role — overseer of the household — placed him in charge of the palace's domestic operations, a position of significant proximity to the king. His role is listed alongside that of Adoniram, who oversaw the labor levy.
