Amad

Amad is a town within the tribal allotment of Asher, named in the boundary description of Joshua 19.

Location

Amad appears in Josh 19:26 alongside Allammelech and Mishal in the delineation of Asher's territory: "Allammelech, and Amad, and Mishal; and it reached to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath." The cluster of towns marks the southwestern portion of Asher's allotment, in the region approaching Mount Carmel.
