Anamim
The Anamim appear only in the Table of Nations, listed among the peoples that descend from Mizraim, the ancestor of Egypt and adjacent African groups.
A People Descended from Mizraim
Genesis places the Anamim in the second tier of the Hamite line, born of Mizraim alongside several other tribal names: "And Mizraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim" (Gen 10:13). The parallel genealogy in Chronicles preserves the same sequence: "And Mizraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim" (1Ch 1:11). Beyond the bare patronymic placement, the umbrella has no further narrative — the Anamim are remembered only as a name in the genealogical map of Mizraim's descendants.
