Anammelech

Anammelech is one of the gods of Sepharvaim, worshiped by the Sepharvite settlers whom the king of Assyria relocated to the cities of Samaria after the northern kingdom's fall. The text records a particularly grim form of devotion: "the Sepharvites burned their sons in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim" (2Ki 17:31). Anammelech is paired with Adrammelech throughout this account, and both deities required child sacrifice from their devotees.
