Aran

Aran appears twice in the genealogies, both times as one of the two sons of Dishan in the Horite line of Edom.

Son of Dishan

The Edomite genealogy in Genesis lists him with his brother: "These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran" (Gen 36:28). The Chronicler repeats the same pair within a wider listing of Seir's descendants — "The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran" (1Ch 1:42). Beyond name and parentage there is no narrative.
