Archi is a place name marking a border point in the tribal allotment of Ephraim, located along the boundary line that ran from Beth-el westward toward the coast.

A Border Landmark of Ephraim

The name appears in the description of the southern boundary of Ephraim's territory. Jos 16:2 records that the boundary "went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites to Ataroth" — placing Archi between Beth-el/Luz and Ataroth on the tribal frontier. The Archites, associated with this location, are known elsewhere in the narrative as a clan; the region itself served as a recognized reference point for the surveyors drawing the tribal allotments in Canaan.
