Areli

Areli is a son of Gad and grandson of Jacob, whose descendants formed a recognized clan within the tribe of Gad.

Son of Gad

Areli appears in the list of Jacob's descendants who went down to Egypt. Ge 46:16 records: "And the sons of Gad: Zephon, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli." He is the seventh son named in Gad's line, making him a grandson of Jacob and a member of the founding generation of the tribe of Gad. His descendants, the Arelites, are identified as a family within Gad in Nu 26:17: "of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites."
