Aristobulus
Aristobulus is mentioned once in the New Testament, in Paul's closing greetings to the church at Rome. The reference is not to Aristobulus himself but to those belonging to his household: "Greet Apelles the approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the [household] of Aristobulus" (Rom 16:10).
A Household in Rome
The greeting identifies a group of believers within a larger domestic circle — "those who are of the [household] of Aristobulus." The phrasing implies that not all members of the household were Christians; Paul singles out those within it who were. Aristobulus himself receives no greeting, suggesting he may not have been a member of the congregation or may have already died, leaving his household as a known social unit in Rome.
