Arnan
Arnan appears in the genealogy of David's descendants recorded in 1 Chronicles. He is listed among the sons of Hananiah, himself a descendant of Zerubbabel: "And the sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah, and Jeshaiah; the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, the sons of Shecaniah" (1 Chr 3:21).
In the Davidic Line
The genealogy of 1 Chr 3 traces the royal line of David through the exile and into the post-exilic period. Arnan is presented as one branch of Hananiah's descendants, enumerated alongside Rephaiah, Obadiah, and Shecaniah. No further details about him appear in the text; his significance lies entirely in his place within the continuing Davidic lineage through Zerubbabel.
