Asiel

Asiel is named in the genealogical records of the tribe of Simeon, appearing as an ancestor in the line that produced Jehu, one of the Simeonite clan leaders. The verse reads: "and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel" (1Ch 4:35).

An Ancestor of Jehu of Simeon

The passage in 1Ch 4 lists the chiefs of Simeonite clans at the time of Hezekiah. Asiel appears as the great-grandfather of Jehu through the line Asiel → Seraiah → Joshibiah → Jehu. No further information about Asiel himself is given beyond his place in this genealogical chain.
