Athens

Athens, a city of Greece, appears in the UPDV in a single passing notice — the moment in Paul's correspondence with the Thessalonians where it is named as the place of his temporary solitude.

Left Behind Alone

Paul recalls the cost of the absence to the Thessalonians: "Therefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone" (1 Th 3:1). The verse stands as the only mention of the city in the available scope.
