Athlai

Athlai was one of the sons of Bebai who is listed among those who had taken foreign wives and were required to put them away during the reform led by Ezra following the return from exile.

Among Those Who Put Away Foreign Wives

The register of men who had married foreign women and complied with Ezra's ruling includes Athlai among the sons of Bebai. Ezr 10:28 records: "And of the sons of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai." His name closes the list of four men from that family who were counted in the broader assembly of those who separated from their foreign wives as part of the covenant renewal.
