Atrothshophan

Atrothshophan is a town in the Transjordan territory built by the tribe of Gad, listed in UPDV at Numbers 32:35: "and Atrothshophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah."

It appears in the list of Gadite settlements east of the Jordan and is not mentioned elsewhere in UPDV. Older sources and some versions render the name as Atroth-shophan or Shophan.
