Attorney
"Attorney" is the older topical term for one trained or hired in the law. In the New Testament the figure appears chiefly as the lawyer (νομικός) of the gospels; the only Acts-era attorney, Tertullus the Roman orator hired by the high priest against Paul (Acts 24:1-2), falls outside UPDV's translated scope. For the gospel jurist, see Lawyer.
