Azzan

Azzan is named in the tribal land-allotment list for Canaan as the father of Paltiel, who was appointed prince over Issachar to assist in dividing the territory among Israel's tribes (Num 34:26).

Father of Paltiel

When Yahweh gave Moses the list of men to oversee the division of Canaan, Issachar's representative was "Paltiel the son of Azzan" (Num 34:26). Azzan himself holds no other role in the narrative; his significance is entirely genealogical — he is the link that identifies Paltiel's tribal standing.
