Bakbakkar

Bakbakkar is a Levite named among those who resettled in Jerusalem following the Babylonian exile.

The Levite in the Post-Exilic Settlement

In the genealogical record of those who returned to their cities, Bakbakkar appears in a list of Levites: "and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph" (1Chr 9:15). He is grouped with fellow Levites including Mattaniah, whose lineage is traced back through Zichri to Asaph. No further detail about Bakbakkar's role or family is given beyond this brief mention in the settlement list.
