Beth-Car
Beth-car appears once in the Hebrew Bible, named as the limit of Israel's pursuit of the Philistines after the rout at Mizpah. It is identified as a place west of Mizpeh.
A Place West of Mizpeh
After Yahweh's intervention at Mizpah, the Israelites press their advantage against the fleeing Philistines, and Beth-car marks the western edge of that pursuit: "And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, until they came under Beth-car" (1 Sam 7:11). The site is named only as a geographic boundary, the point at which the chase ends.
