Bocheru
Bocheru is one of the six sons of Azel, named only inside the Saulide genealogy that the Chronicler runs twice. He stands second in the list of Azel's sons in both occurrences.
In the Benjamite Genealogy
The first list closes the descent that runs from Saul through Jonathan, Merib-baal, Micah, Ahaz, and on through Moza, Binea, Raphah, and Eleasah to Azel. The next-generation enumeration is fixed: "And Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel" (1 Ch 8:38). Bocheru sits second of the six.
In the Post-Exile Recension
The parallel list reaches Azel by the same path with minor name variants in the intermediate generations (Tahrea for Tarea, Jarah for Jehoaddah, Rephaiah for Raphah). The roster of Azel's sons is identical: "And Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel" (1 Ch 9:44). The order, the spelling, and the count of six all stay fixed across the two lists.
