Bolt

The bolt appears in Habakkuk's theophany as a fiery weapon attending Yahweh's advance.

Fiery Bolts at His Feet

In the prophet's vision of God coming forth, the figure pairs plague with flame: "Before him went the pestilence, And fiery bolts went forth at his feet" (Hab 3:5). The bolts are placed at Yahweh's feet and travel out from him as he advances, set in parallel with the pestilence going on ahead.
