Buckler

A buckler is a type of defensive shield carried in ancient warfare, named alongside the larger shield and the target as varieties of body-armor used by Israel's warriors. Scripture treats it both as a literal piece of military equipment and, figuratively, as an image of God's protection over those who trust in him.
