Burning
Burning, in the judicial sense, is one of the modes of execution prescribed under Mosaic law, applied to particular capital offenses such as certain forms of sexual immorality and the promiscuousness of a priest's daughter. It belongs to the wider biblical treatment of the death penalty and stands alongside stoning, hanging, beheading, crucifixion, and the sword as a sanctioned manner of carrying out a capital sentence.
