The burning bush is the bush that blazed with fire yet was not consumed, in which the angel of Yahweh appeared to Moses on Horeb and from which God spoke his name and his commission to deliver Israel. Jesus later cited the same scene in his argument with the Sadducees about the resurrection of the dead.
