Capital Punishment
Capital punishment is the death penalty under Mosaic law, prescribed for offenses such as murder, blasphemy, Sabbath desecration, idolatry, sexual immorality, kidnapping, false prophecy, witchcraft, and treason, and not commuted on the testimony of fewer than two witnesses. Modes of execution include stoning, burning, hanging, beheading, the sword, and crucifixion, carried out by accusing witnesses or by the whole congregation.
