Casluhim
The Casluhim are a Mizraite people in the Table of Nations, named between the Pathrusim and the Caphtorim. Their note carries the parenthetical that traces the Philistines back to them.
A Son of Mizraim
In Genesis the Casluhim appear in the list of peoples descended from Mizraim, with the Philistines explicitly attached: "and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from where went forth the Philistines), and Caphtorim" (Gen 10:14). The parallel genealogy in Chronicles preserves the same sequence and broadens the descent line slightly: "and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from where the Philistines and Caphtorim came" (1Ch 1:12). The two texts agree that the Philistines trace back through the Casluhim; the Chronicler additionally locates the Caphtorim there.
