Chelal
Chelal appears once in scripture, listed among the sons of Pahath-moab who had married foreign wives during the post-exilic reform under Ezra.
Son of Pahath-moab
In the catalogue of those who put away their foreign wives, Chelal is named alongside seven of his clansmen: "And of the sons of Pahath-moab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Manasseh" (Ezra 10:30). The name occurs nowhere else, and nothing further is recorded about him beyond his place in this list of returnees who joined Ezra's covenant of separation.
