Chilmad
Chilmad is mentioned once, in the lament over Tyre, as one of the distant trading partners whose merchants supplied the great port-city.
A Trading Partner of Tyre
In Ezekiel's catalogue of the nations and cities that traded with Tyre, Chilmad appears in a string of names from the upper Mesopotamian and Arabian trade routes: "Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur [and] Chilmad, were your traffickers" (Ezekiel 27:23). The bracketed conjunction binds Chilmad to Asshur in the list of Tyre's "traffickers" — those who carried wares to her markets. Beyond this single notice, nothing further is recorded of the place.
